My client, a large Insurance company, is looking for Business Analyst in the Digital Transformation Team who will report into the Chief Digital Transformation Officer and works closely with the Global Risk Solution (GRS) technology teams to deliver innovative solutions and capabilities that leverage our technical expertise and business understanding and partnerships to enable market-leading performance world-wide. We have a large portfolio of change to deliver in 2022, and one of our key initiatives is the Outward Reinsurance Operating Model programme. This initiative seeks to develop our Outward Reinsurance capabilities, ensuring our technology, processes and organisation are able to support our existing and growth in business in this area. Working with a team to identify tactical and strategic solutions to enable us to provide a leading OWRI capability which meets the needs of the business. Experience within the Insurance industry is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
Work closely with the product owner in understanding the business needs and goals and articulating in order to progress delivery
Conduct analysis work to identify to be future state operating models through process and technology and understand current state processes
Facilitate workshops to elaborate Epics and capture and document user story mapping and user stories
Identify solutions and work with solution architects to design and deliver solutions to implement
products/technology
Actively manage backlog stories with product owner ensuring prioritisation
Work with stakeholders to identify and document non functional requirements as user stories
Ensure refinement of stories is taking place at appropriate time to feed backlog
Contribute to project as required to develop proposals, requirements, or another project documentation
Elicit further requirements and test / challenge assumptions using a variety of methods including interviews, document analysis, workshops, and business process descriptions
Identify the relationships, dependencies and impacts of change on multiple systems and processes
Stakeholder management – support the product owner to interact with all levels of management, obtain buy in and sign off and manage expectations
Work effectively as part of a project team alongside the Product Owner, Scrum master and delivery team and actively participate in sprint ceremonies
Assist in testing of outcomes ensuring they meet business needs
Identify and estimate deliverable efforts and commitments
Contribute to team quarterly planning and sets expectations for delivery of new capabilities, features, and functionalities
Participate in team demos, retrospectives, and all other ceremonies
Support the use of product level KPIs to drive product decisions. Assist in the collecting KPI data and / or reinforcing their use in product decisions.
Supports creating and maintaining the backlog (including prioritisation and acceptance criteria)
Skills and Experience
Experience of working within an operating model programme that has delivered a change in process and technology
Experience of Insurance industry is preferred
Business/Product analysis experience and knowledge of business analysis methodologies
Financial Services experience essential
Experience of working with agile methodologies would be advantageous but not essential
Ability to work independently as well as harmoniously in teams
Comfortable working with ‘C’ level stakeholders
Flexible and pragmatic
