Senior Claims Architect (COG)
This role will be guiding strategy and development of global Claims digital and non-digital solutions which leverage reusable platforms and frameworks, using architecture best practices and strategy. Critical to this role is an in-depth understanding of modern application architecture, including responsive UI’s, API’s, microservices and cloud architecture. A primary responsibility for this role will be to leverage the global claims architecture and practice for COG regions. Familiarity with claims processing or with the P&C or financial services industry is preferred.
Primary Job Responsibilities
Provide end-to-end application architecture strategy and design for digital and non-digital claims solutions.
Engage with claims business stakeholders and senior claims IT leadership to understand COG and regional solution and platform needs to formulate strategies and solutions.
Develop working relationships with regional and country-level architects and senior technical staff to enable collaboration on regional claim solutions.
Assist the global Claims Chief Architect in building out an effective solution architecture practice for COG practice, including talent acquisition and retention.
Develop solution designs that align with architecture direction and meet COG and regional business needs, incorporating appropriate input from various platform specialists and domain experts.
Ensure alignment of claims solutions with Claims Platform reference architectures.
Deliver scalable and flexible solution designs that are reusable and reuse shared services.
Engage and enable relevant infrastructure, security, compliance and architecture governance processes.
Communicate designs to other architects, developers, tech leads and Agile teams, assist in estimation of effort, and conduct design reviews.
Technical Experience and Competencies
Demonstrated experience designing extensible and reusable solutions
Up to date knowledge and experience of industry best practices, technologies and frameworks needed to deliver modern digital application architecture such as API’s microservices, Cloud and hybrid platforms, web-based applications, business process/rules orchestration and application integration.
Experience designing scalable platforms using concepts such as clustering, load balancing, and fault tolerance.
Experience with applying architecture analyses to evaluate alternative options based on their impacts.
Experience with building and retaining architecture or technical teams is a strong plus.
Experience with using DevOps, continuous integration and automated testing with related tooling for delivery.
Expertise with REST JSON-based API’s, microservices, and cloud platform capabilities. Knowledge of Azure serverless components, Angular, (C#) and/or Java.
Experience with claims processing or systems or alternatively with the P&C insurance industry is a strong plus.
Partnership and Team Work
Good communication and leadership. Must be able to provide hands-on guidance and feedback to technical resources (including contract resources) as well as senior business and IT leadership.
Demonstrate strong ability to work in a team environment.
Ensure documentation is captured appropriately and is easily accessible to the team members

Bachelor’s Degree (required)
3 – 5 years application architecture experience (Insurance P&C experience is a plus)
Ability to execute and prioritize a number of tasks simultaneously
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal/relationship management skills
