Head of the overall Allianz Musical Insurance (AMI) business, with accountability for the end to end business model encompassing Underwriting, Pricing, Marketing, Distribution, Partnerships, Claims, and Operations and support services such as Finance, IT, Regulatory Standards and Risk. A matrix leadership role requiring all parts of the business to collaborate to deliver the plan, with accountability for the P&L of the Musical Insurance business.
Responsibilities will include:
- Leading the strategic development of the Musical Insurance business, developing growth plans to strengthen AMI position in the UK marketplace.
- Managing the Marketing & Distribution function, and indirect leadership of other functions.
- Maintaining profitable performance through GWP growth, expense management, and appropriate loss ratios. Taking remedial action where necessary and informing the Specialty MD of significant changes.
- Providing strong leadership that is consistent with Allianz Personal Lines (AZP) values, taking responsibility for, coaching, appraising and giving direction to the AMI management team utilising a supportive matrix management approach
- Formulating, communicating and agreeing the strategic direction for the AMI business within the overall Specialty and AZP business and strategic plan.
- Reporting on AMI performance to the Specialty MD and the AZP Exco as required.
- Chairing monthly trading and customer committees.
- TIA Application Business Owner in partnership with IT Application Owner.
Skills and Experience Required
- Significant Commercial experience of balancing customer, operational and financial needs, and delivering desired commercial outcomes, in response to trading environment and cnsumer trends
- Ability to develop and maintain positive internal and external relationships at all levels
- Good understanding of and ability to assimilate regulatory and compliance requirements that impact the business
- Proven experience of effective leadership of people
- Highly evolved communication, influencing and negotiating skills, with the ability to inspire engagement with key Stakeholders, Senior Management and team members
- Effective decision maker utilising the business strategy to determine priorities
The role is currently based in Brentford, but towards the end of 2022 will be moving to Ditton Park, Datchet, Berkshire. This role will be hybrid working with an expectation of attending the office location at a minimum of 2 x per month.
