Head of Construction

We are looking for an individual who has good knowledge of the London Market construction and liability market. You will either already be in a role as Head of Construction or will be a Senior London Market Broker in the sector looking to take on more responsibility working for a dynamic and expanding Lloyd’s Broker.

You will be tasked with inheriting, maintaining and growing a long-established book of clients, developing this into a profitable specialism through cross sell, referral and outstanding knowledge within the sector.

You will be responsible for placement on construction business and will support placement support in other lines of business. To succeed in this role you will need to be a team player that can utilise new and existing broker relationships and cross referrals from other Jensten group businesses in a collaborative manner

The Purpose of this role:

In collaboration with insurers, develop income generating solutions through improved practices and processes, that deliver organic growth and additional income streams, as well as supporting profitable underwriting returns.

Responsibilities:

• To facilitate the placement of construction risks sourced from Jensten Retail Brokers and independent brokers, allowing for good customer outcomes
• In conjunction with the Managing Director ensure that the company remains a primary London Broker in the Construction Sector
• Assist in the development of new products and schemes with syndicates/cover providers
• Develop relationships at a senior level with supporting syndicates and agents
• Monitor competitor activity and ensure the firm remains competitive in terms of products and services offered
• Manage operational relationships with supporting Managing Agent and Lloyd’s syndicates/cover providers
