UK Head of Analytics and Insight

Role overview
On the back of strong business growth and continued investment into our reporting and insight function, we have created this new role, the UK Head of Analytics and Insight. The successful individual will lead an entrepreneurial, rapidly growing and forward-thinking reporting and insights team to strengthen our business insights capability.
We are looking for a driven, motivated individual, with significant technical skills and experience to lead a team of MI and reporting analysts located in the UK and India. They will report to the Business Solutions Director. This role will entail making sure DUAL delivers BAU services to a high standard, whilst also leading the team through a time of change as they complete a programme of work to replace the existing reporting capability whilst we move to a new underwriting platform, Salesforce.
The successful candidate will have excellent change and communication skills, and a proven track record in leading MI teams, ideally within the insurance industry. The successful candidate will drive the adoption of new ways of working, delivering further data insights and selecting the best tools to derive business value, growth and competitive advantages. The candidate will also work closely and collaboratively with the COO, DUAL UK & Europe, the Howden Group IT team and the P4G team.

Role Responsibilities
  • Partner closely with Senior Business Leaders and external consultants to lead the implementation of the DUAL analytics strategy ensuring alignment with the strategic goals of the business
  • Lead the MI team to ensure the delivery of BAU services, as well as succeeding in the P4G change programme, ensuring DUAL has the right capabilities in the MI team to take the business into the future and that key individuals have defined career paths
  • Advise the business on how to harness developments in technology, and within the digital space, to be a customer-centric, agile, market-leading business, well-positioned for growth
  • Build and maintain strong and effective relationships with key external vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure quality service
  • Provide visionary leadership by fostering a culture of employee engagement and role modelling, encouraging and rewarding essential behaviours and maintaining a high level of personal and professional standards
  • Drive technical innovation in the team to ensure our approach is aligned to business needs
  • Technically strong in Microsoft technologies, PowerBI, Salesforce or equivalent technologies within the insurance market
  • Defining and assuring the technical standards and the adoption of the new technologies
  • Drive simplification and scalability to reduce operating costs
  • Ensure robust governance and assurance is in place to go live on releases and implementations
  • Assess and prioritise change based upon business value
Key Skills
  • Strategic business knowledge and understanding of the insurance sector is preferable
  • Strong networking, communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong organisational and leadership abilities with high levels of personal integrity
  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing business environment
  • Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills. Ability to diagnose problems quickly and have foresight into potential issues
  • Actively listens to the views of colleagues and business leaders, but also has the strength of character to challenge where required to ensure operational excellence
  • Credible and able to quickly build the trust and confidence of the Senior Leadership team as well as senior managers and other key stakeholders
  • Strong project and programme management skills
  • A team player, able to contribute significantly at a senior level
  • Track record of delivering results both in routine and project mode, and manage priorities to meet deadlines
